CURRENT FOCUS AREAS
Mental Wellness and School Supports
RSG staff search for funding to give schools opportunities to support their students’ mental wellness. We help districts build strategies that expand and systemize referral processes and preventative-intervention opportunities to increase access to mental health services. Supports include: a model for mental health and prevention services; new referral systems via trauma response and safety checklists; and customized funding strategies to help schools access tools needed to build support systems for student mental wellness and school climate. Our work extends beyond schools to real work in our communities. Currently, we are working through a model of trauma informed community work to fully build an assessment and resource system to trauma.
Bullying/Harassment /Intimidation Reduction
Today’s bullying problem is one that often leads to anxiety, violence, student depression and other serious problems. Recognized efforts to reduce bullying include expansion of its definition, and efficient ways to report incidences. RSG’s staff help schools focus on data tools, analysis and next-step methods to reduce and address these antisocial behaviors.
Family Support Centers
RSG knows that it is difficult to educate a hungry and hurting child. We are working to grow a Family Support Centers model that helps schools meet the basic needs of students effectively and efficiently through proven-effective models and years of direct service in our partner schools. We help bring together community partners committed to addressing basic needs with the end goal of supporting an in-school services model. These supports bridge family and school connections, elevating the importance of education for our most vulnerable students and families.
